550Plants for Each Village of Sangrur Forest Division

Sangrur, 25 June, 2019: The most Prestigious project of Punjab is to celebrate the 550th Birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev Ji with planting 550 saplings in each & every village of Punjab State by September 30.

Tushar Kanti Bahera, IFS, Chief Conservator of Forests (plains) has taken the review meeting for greening each villages by 550 plants in Sangrur Division.

CCF (P) emphasize that tree plantation is need of hour to save and protect our environment for future generations.

CCF (P) said that to conserve environment the state forest department is taking all Needful steps and he appealed to youth and students to play a active role in conserving the environment and spreading awareness about it.

CCF planted the sapling at Badbar village along with villagers and field staff.

The villager took oath to protect environment and plant more trees for making the green & clean Punjab.

Dr.Monika Devi Yadav, IFS, DFO Sangrur told that we have finished the advance earth work in 350 villages out of 720 villages, rest will be completed in next week. We have around 18 lakh saplings in our nurseries under various schemes to green Sangrur and Barnala District.

Dr Monika further said “We are creating 360 hectare sacred green groves of Nanak Bagichi in each village under 550 Scheme.

She also accentuated that we together can create history for planting more trees in coming monsoon season”.
