ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ, 02 ਮਾਰਚ 2022: ਪੰਜਾਬ ਪੁਲਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਾਇਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮ ਵਿੰਗ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਧਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਾਈ-ਟੈਕ ਹੈਕਿੰਗ ਟੂਲਜ਼ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀ ਇੱਕ ਨਾਮਵਰ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਸ਼ਲੀਲ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਿਤ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੇ ਇੱਕ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੈ।

ਗ੍ਰਿਫਤਾਰ ਕੀਤੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਦੀ ਪਛਾਣ ਨਵਜੋਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਅਟਵਾਲ, ਵਾਸੀ ਆਈਵਰੀ ਟਾਵਰ, ਸੈਕਟਰ-70, ਐਸ.ਏ.ਐਸ. ਨਗਰ ਵਜੋਂ ਹੋਈ ਹੈ, ਜੋ ਇਸੇ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਦਿਆਰਥੀ ਹੈ।

ਇਸ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ, ਏ.ਡੀ.ਜੀ.ਪੀ ਸਾਇਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ 26 ਫਰਵਰੀ, 2022 ਨੂੰ, ਉਕਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਈੇਵੇਟ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਸਿ਼ਕਾਇਤ ਪ੍ਰਾਪਤ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਕੋਈ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਜ਼ੂਮ/ਬਲੈਕਬੋਰਡ ਐਪ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਕੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਈਮੇਲ ਆਈਡੀ, ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਅਧਿਆਪਨ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੈਕ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਵਟਸਐਪ ਅਕਾਊਂਟ ਨੰਬਰਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਅਸ਼ਲੀਲ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਿਤ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ।

ਸਿ਼ਕਾਇਤ ਤੇ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਦਿਆਂ, ਪੁਲਿਸ ਸਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਸਟੇਟ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮ ਵਿੱਚ ਆਈਪੀਸੀ ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 354-ਡੀ, 509, 120-ਬੀ, ਆਈ.ਟੀ ਐਕਟ-2000 ਦੀ ਧਾਰਾ 66-ਸੀ ਅਤੇ 67-ਏ  ਤਹਿਤ ਐਫਆਈਆਰ ਦਰਜ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ।

ਏ.ਆਈ.ਜੀ. ਸਟੇਟ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮ, ਨੀਲਾਂਬਰੀ ਜਗਦਲੇ ਨੇ ਜਾਨਕਾਰੀ ਦਿੰਦਿਆਂ ਦੱਸਿਆ ਕਿ ਸਟੇਟ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਕ੍ਰਾਈਮ ਸੈੱਲ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਸ਼ੱਕੀ ਗਤੀਵਿਧੀਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਟਸਐਪ, ਜ਼ੂਮ ਅਤੇ ਗੂਗਲ ਏਜੰਸੀਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਤਾਲਮੇਲ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ।

ਪੁੱਛਗਿੱਛ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੇ ਕਬੂਲਿਆ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਵੱਖ-ਵੱਖ ਪੋਰਨ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਪੋਰਨ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਕੀਤੀ ਵੀਡੀਓ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੀ ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਦੇ ਫੈਕਲਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਮੋਰਫ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਵੀਪੀਐਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਿੰਗ ਟੂਲਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ ਫਰਜ਼ੀ ਵਟਸਐਪ ਅਕਾਊਂਟ ਬਣਾ ਕੇ ਅਸ਼ਲੀਲ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅੱਗੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਰਿਤ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ। ਜਿ਼ਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਬਲੈਕਬੋਰਡ ਸੌਫਟਵੇਅਰ ਅਤੇ ਜ਼ੂਮ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਰਾਹੀਂ ਕਰਵਾਏ ਗਏ ਵੈਬਿਨਾਰਾਂ `ਤੇ ਔਨਲਾਈਨ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਸੈਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਕਥਿਤ ਅਸ਼ਲੀਲ ਸਮੱਗਰੀ ਪੋਸਟ ਕਰਦਾ ਸੀ।

ਤਫ਼ਤੀਸ਼ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਕੋਲੋਂ ਮੋਬਾਈਲ ਫ਼ੋਨ, ਲੈਪਟਾਪ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਪੀਐਨ ਅਤੇ ਹੈਕਿੰਗ ਸਾਫ਼ਟਵੇਅਰ/ਟੂਲ  ਵਾਲੇ ਹੋਰ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਯੰਤਰ ਜ਼ਬਤ ਕੀਤੇ ਗਏ ਹਨ। ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਇਲੈਕਟ੍ਰਾਨਿਕ ਯੰਤਰਾਂ ਦੀ ਫੋਰੈਂਸਿਕ ਜਾਂਚ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਅਗਲੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ । ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੋ ਦਿਨ ਦੇ ਪੁਲੀਸ ਰਿਮਾਂਡ ’ਤੇ ਭੇਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਜਿ਼ਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ ਕਿ, ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪੀੜਤ/ਸਿ਼ਕਾਇਤਕਰਤਾ ਵੈਬਸਾਈਟ  www.cybercrime.gov.in ਜਾਂ ਈਮੇਲ  aigcc@punjabpolice.gov.in.  `ਤੇ ਸਾਈਬਰ ਅਪਰਾਧ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਸਿ਼ਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਟੋਲ ਫਰੀ ਹੈਲਪਲਾਈਨ ਨੰਬਰ: 155260 `ਤੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਿ਼ਕਾਇਤ ਦਰਜ ਕਰਵਾਈ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਸਾਈਬਰ ਅਪਰਾਧਾਂ ਦੀ ਰੋਕਥਾਮ ਲਈ ਐਡਵਾਈਜ਼ਰੀ:-

  1. ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ

ਇੱਕ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਅਕਾਊਂਟਸ ਲਈ ਇੱਕੋ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

ਨਿਯਮਿਤ ਤੌਰ `ਤੇ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਬਦਲਦੇ ਰਹੋ।

ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਘੱਟੋ-ਘੱਟ ਅੱਠ-ਅੱਖਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਨੰਬਰ, ਵੱਡੇ ਅੱਖਰ, ਛੋਟੇ ਅੱਖਰ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਅੱਖਰ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਨਿੱਜੀ ਵੇਰਵਿਆਂ ਜਿਵੇਂ ਕਿ ਨਾਮ, ਜਨਮ ਮਿਤੀ ਆਦਿ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ।

ਈਮੇਲ, ਚੈਟ ਜਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਸੰਚਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੋ।

ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਪਲਬਧ ਰੀਮੈੈਂਬਰ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

  1. ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਪਲੇਟਫਾਰਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਸਾਵਧਾਨੀਆਂ

ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਸਵਰਡ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਾ ਦੱਸੋੋ।

ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ `ਤੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਨਿੱਜੀ ਜਾਣਕਾਰੀ ਅਤੇ  ਨਿੱਜੀ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਵੀਡੀਓਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਦੀ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਸੀ ਕੰਟਰੋਲ ਸੈਟਿੰਗਜ਼ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੋ।

ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਨੈੱਟਵਰਕਿੰਗ ਵੈੱਬਸਾਈਟਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਸਤੇਮਾਲ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਜਨਤਕ ਕੰਪਿਊਟਰ/ਸਾਈਬਰ ਕੈਫੇ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

ਗੈਰ-ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਤ ਥਰਡ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਡਾਊਨਲੋਡ ਨਾ ਕਰੋ।

ਸੋਸ਼ਲ ਮੀਡੀਆ ਫੋਰਮਾਂ `ਤੇ ਅਣ-ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਤ ਪੋਸਟਾਂ/ਖਬਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਜਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਨਾ ਭੇਜੋ।

  1. ਵਰਚੁਅਲ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਲਈ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਉਪਾਅ

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਐਂਡ ਟੂ ਐਂਡ ਏਨਕ੍ਰਿਪਸ਼ਨ ਅਤੇ ਮਲਟੀ-ਫੈਕਟਰ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣਿਕਤਾ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ।

ਉਹਨਾਂ ਐਪਲੀਕੇਸ਼ਨਾਂ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੋ ਜੋ ਇਨ-ਐਪ ਸਰਵਿਲੈਂਸ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਥਰਡ ਪਾਰਟੀਜ਼ ਨਾਲ ਡੇਟਾ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ।

ਦੂਜਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਈਮੇਲਾਂ ਦੁਆਰਾ ਮੀਟਿੰਗ ਇਨਵਾਈਟਸ ਅੱਗੇ ਭੇਜਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਅਲਰਟ ਸੈਟ ਅੱਪ ਕਰੋ।

ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਮੀਟਿੰਗਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਲਾਕ ਕਰੋ ਅਤੇ ਨਵੇਂ ਭਾਗੀਦਾਰਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋਣ ਲਈ ਵੇਟਿੰਗ ਰੂਮ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ਤਾ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਕਰੋ।

Mansa, 02 January 2022: SSP Mansa Dr. Sandeep Kumar Garg has done commendable duty during the year 2021. Recently, he has been transferred to Patiala as SSP.

The District Police Mansa has achieved a lot in the last one year by eradicating drugs in the district, controlling anti-social elements and providing clean and fair police administration to the public.

During the last year, law and order situation has been maintained in the district following Kovid-19.

The Punjab Government has adopted a Zero Tolerance Policy to make Punjab drug free. As per the guidelines issued by the DGP Punjab from time to time, the Mansa Police led by Dr Sandeep Garg has been playing a vital role in making the district drug free by conducting effective patrols and blockades through a special campaign against drug smugglers in the district for complete prevention of drugs.

The property of 3 smugglers has been identified and their total assets amounting to Rs. of Rs. 67, 06,977 / – have been attached as per official records.

A total of 502 drug seminars / drug awareness meetings have been organized in the villages and mohallas of the district to make the public aware about the ill effects of drugs.

Mansa Police has registered 339 cases under NDPS Act and arrested 538 accused. Similarly, 657 cases have been registered under the Excise Act and 745 accused have been arrested.

992 grams of heroin captured under NDPS Act, Opium 5 kg 346 gm, ashes 666 kg 200 gm, smack 30 gm, 169611 drug pills, 290 drug bottles, cannabis 8 kg 302 gm, 1 vaccine, sulfa 55 gm were recovered.

Under the Excise Act 45 operating kilns, 11973 litres 275 ml liquor, English liquor 444 litres 975 ml, beer 80 litres 250 ml, illicit liquor 2265 litres 665 ml, lahan 27024 kg were recovered.

A total of 16 cases have been registered under the Arms Act and 18 accused have been arrested from whom 15 pistols, 2 guns, 1 spear and 28 rounds of ammunition have been recovered.

Under the Gambling Act, 103 cases have been registered and 135 accused have been arrested, from whom gambling cash amounting to Rs. 4, 20,515 / – has been recovered.

Two accused under counterfeit currency offenses have been arrested and counterfeit currency of Rs. 4, 75,000 / – has been recovered from them.

Mansa police nabbed 18 members of gangs while exposing 3 inter-state gangs involved in looting. From whom 2 pistols, 5 live ammunition, 5 motorcycles etc. lethal weapons were recovered. With this significant success was achieved in preventing incidents of looting.

Mansa Police has launched a special operation to nab fugitives in various cases and arrested a total of 33 fugitives during the last one year.

Mansa police traced 120 untraceable cases of theft and arrested 232 accused. Out of which goods worth Rs. 88, 41,535 / – have been recovered.

Mansa Police under the services of Community Policing recovered more than 500 lost mobile phones of the public from different cities of the country and handed them over to the concerned owners. The citizens have appreciated the role of SSP Sandeep Garg.

A total of 2164 cases have been registered during the year 2021 and in a fast track disposal, total 2808 cases were disposed of by completing the investigation of the new and old pending cases.

In addition, around 246 cancellation reports have been filed the judicial courts for approval this during the year.

In a swift action, two blind murder cases under (U/S 302) were traced and accused have been arrested during the year 2021. A total 5993 public applications have been disposed off.

6592 calls received from Police Helpline-112 were disposed off. The information sought by the people has been provided under the RTI act and 1054 applications have been disposed.

“Radio Ujala Punjab” For & By Jail inmates starts at Central Jail Kapurthala

Jail inmates will present the program for 3-4 hours daily

In a unique initiative by the Punjab Government, the Jail department today launched the “Radio Ujala Punjab” at central jail kapurthala.

Praveen Kumar Sinha, IPS, ADGP Prisons, Punjab while inaugurating this noble cause, said that the Jail departments have launched Ujala Radio at 6 jails in the state.

Radio system in prisons has been set-up in association with India Vision Foundation and HR tools which is a pioneer in conducting various reformatory projects in prisons.

ADGP also said that prison radio is set to change the lives of many who have, by chance or fate, landed in the prisons by flourishing the hidden talent in jail inmates besides bringing them to the main stream.

Radio Ujala will be an internal system of the jail which will be run by prison inmates only for 3-4 hours daily. In kapurthala the Radio announcer Meghna and Lakhwinder singh were the first one to showcase her talent by broadcasting the devotional songs.

Inmates who will work as radio jockeys would underwent a training of three days organized by India Vision Foundation.

“The prime objective is to rehabilitate and correct the anti-social elements. Prisoners face alienation and isolation from the society. We hope that providing them with a conducive atmosphere and enough welfare opportunities inside the jail will help to keep these prisoners away from the society of crime”, ADGP Prisons said.

He also said that in next few days the Jail department would start the facility to provide the recorded programs by inmates to their families.

Earlier Jail Superintendent Gurnam lal and SP Jagjit singh saroa welcomed the ADGP on behalf of SSP kapurthala.

After taking charge as CMD pspcl Er.Baldev Singh Sran said that he will always remain committed to provide uninterrupted , reliable and cheaper power to the people of Punjab.
It is stated that Er.Baldev Singh Sran has once again assumed charge as chairman-cum-managing director of Punjab state Power Corporation limited here today.
Punjab Government has appointed Er.Baldev Singh Sran as CMD PSPCL for second time His term is for one year and can be extended by another year.
He retired as CMD PSPCL on June 6,2020 after completing two years tenure. Er Baldev Singh Sran has created a history of its own in the state of Punjab, he is the only engineer of PSPCL who has been appointed CMD of PSPCL twice. During his first tenure from June 2018 to June 2020.
On this occasion Jatinder Goyal director Finance, Er .DPS Grewal director distribution, Er.Gopal Sharma director commercial, Er.Paramjeet Singh director generation, Gagandeep Singh Jalalpur director administration of PSPCL, Er. Yogesh Tandon director Technical PSTCL and large number of HODs and representatives of various engineer bodies also graced the occasion.
Brief Profile of Er.Baldev Singh Sran
He has served for more than 19 years in generation, 6 years in Transmission and 8 years in distribution in different capacities in erstwhile PSEB/PSPCL.
During his 18 years tenure in generation field up to SE level, he worked in construction as well as in Operation & Maintenance (O&M) of thermal plants and was a key instrument in project planning and analysing the cost of generation viz. fuel cost, employee cost, auxiliary consumption, maintenance schedules, operational efficiency which are the main components concerning tariff.
Working as Chief Engineer Fuel, he looked after fuel management for state owned thermal plants and Independent Power Producers on behalf of PSPCL. As Chief Engineer (ARR and TR) he had handled all vital issues related to Tariff and Regulatory matters on behalf of PSPCL and also coordinating for Tariff and Regulatory matters with PSERC, CERC, APTEL and PSTCL
While serving as Chief Engineer/Hydel projects, he looked after operation and maintenance of existing Hydel projects of PSPCL, design, engineering, construction & commissioning of New Hydel projects at Mukerian Stage-II(2X9 MW) and 206 MW Shahpur Kandi (SKPP).
In addition, he also looked after maintenance planning, contracting, renovation & modernization of various Hydel projects.
The hydro power generation of the Punjab has increased by 22 percent in 2017-18 during his stint as Chief engineer Hydel due to his efforts, resultant saving of 325 rupees crores.
Er.Baldev Singh Sran was honoured by the PSPCL for the recognition of the Lehra Mohabat thermal plant at the national level in 2010.

Jalandhar 18 December 2021: The first annual conference of PPMM was held in KMV College Jalandhar on 18th December to recognize the good work done by the Punjab Police Mahila Mittar (PPMM) and to deliberate upon the challenges faced since inceptions and discuss the way forward.

She further said PPMM has received 117816 complaints out of which 11617 complaints (98.9%) have been resolved. The 851 women police personal posted as PPMM are making a mark as the woman face in the Punjab Police who is perceived as a friend, counselor and guide to the women, children and senior citizens. It has also resulted in high self esteem of the women police officials.

The Punjab Police Mahila Mitar (PPMM) was launched in Punjab to commemorate International women’s day on 8th March 2021. Women help desks were setup in 382 Police stations of the state. Women police officials posted in the police stations were designated as Punjab Police Mahila Mittar (PPMM).

It is one of the proactive steps taken by the Punjab Police to ensure that the vulnerable sections of the society can visit the police stations with complete confidence that they will be attended to with due care and compassion by the police officials. Physical presence of the women police officials in a police station invokes a sense of security, comfort and reassurance for citizens, particularly women and children.

Underscoring need for extensive research, the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Punjab Mr Hussan Lal today said that it is need of hour to further make India a front runner country in world.

Addressing a gathering after inaugurating a seven-day ‘Research Grant Proposal Writing Workshop’ at Lovely Professional University, the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister said that there is enormous potential in the Youngsters which can be judged from the fact that Indian are occupying key positions in eminent companies across the globe. \

He said that this trend can be further pushed with more and more research in diverse fields. Mr Hussan Lal said that research is the backbone of education system as it helps in enhancing the level of curriculum on one hand and sharpening the expertise of scholars on the other.

The Principal Secretary to Chief Minster further said that India is a global leader in field of education and further research will help in ensuring more progress in the country. He further said that Research is very important to take a lead in every field.

Mr Hussan Lal further said people of the country and the state are competitive to the world adding that spirit of hard work and resilience in imbued in bloods of Indians.

Striking an emotional chord with students, the Principal Secretary To Chief Minister, while mentioning various coveted opportunities meted out to him by the government, including Sri Kartarpur Sahib Corridor, said that he was blessed to have served the state and its people in various capacities. He urged the students to work hard together and keep competing with the top countries of the world.

Lauding the university management, Mr Hussan Lal said that they are having progressive ideas and vision due to which they have excelled in field of education adding that the seven days workshop will bring a lot of good outcomes.

Earlier, welcoming the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister at the campus, LPU Chancellor Mr Ashok Mittal applauded him for his dynamic service to the nation and the state. He especially quoted about the COVID pandemic phase in the state, which he managed diligently to cast aside the severity of the situation.

Mr Mittal anticipated many more exemplary positive outcomes under his care in the state. He further apprised that the workshop would be much helpful to the state and the country by being able to win several people benefitting research projects from the top funding agencies.

In a bid to ensure timely completion of ongoing development projects in all the villages in the district, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Jaspreet Singh today directed the officials of Rural Development & Panchayat Department to personally monitor the pace of ongoing projects and submit completion reports within stipulated time-frame.
Chairing a review meeting with BDPOs of all development blocks, the ADC took a stock of progress made under several schemes including smart village campaign, allotment of five marla plots to people, Pardhan Mantri Awaas Yojna, Punjab Niram Program, MGNREGA, funds issued under PIDB, RDF, and other schemes.
He directed the officials to utilize all the funds issued under various schemes in line with the time-frames fixed by the government so that people could get the benefit of these schemes.
He also asked the officials to personally monitor the pace of ongoing projects and submit completion reports at the earliest.
Describing E-shram portal a path-breaking initiative to benefit workers, the ADC directed BDPOs, Self Help Groups, Industry department to leave no stone unturned to achieve this goal.
The registration at this portal was initiated under mission mode, he said, adding all workers in the age group of 16-59 years, establishments/units having less than ten workers, self help groups, MGNREGA workers, and Industrial workers could register themselves for this scheme.
He mentioned that the portal aimed at creating a national database of unorganized workers in the country so that the proper benefit of social security schemes could be extended to them.
The workers only required their Aadhar card and active mobile number linked with Aadhar to get them enrolled under this scheme.
The workers registered at the portal before December 31, 2021 will be getting an accident insurance cover worth Rs. two lakh for one year under Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojna, he said.
Mr. Singh further asked the officials to promote e.shram.gov.in portal to benefit rural workforce adding that any kind of laxity in this task would be highly unwarranted.
Prominent amongst others present on the occasion included DDPO Iqbaljit Singh, Deputy CEO Zila Parishad Sukhbir Kaur, and all BDPOs of development blocks.

The Institution of Engineers (India) has conferred the ‘National Eminent Engineer Award’ on Professor (Dr.) Savina Bansal, Professor and former Dean Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (Bathinda) and Ex-Director Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), MRSPTU Bathinda, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contributions made to the profession of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

The other awardees are, Dr. Harpreet Singh of 1963 batch of Engineering from Thapar Institute Patiala and Er. Pawan Garg of 1969 batch of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

The awards were conferred during the ongoing 36th National Convention of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers of Institution of Engineers.

A 2-day National Seminar on Antenna Design was also held on the occasion. The Institution of Engineers (India), which is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research organization by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India is one of the largest multi-disciplinary professional bodies of engineers, established in 1920 with headquarters at Kolkata and was incorporated under Royal Charter in 1935.

Dr. Savina Bansal is of 1988 batch of Engineering from Punjab Engineering College and earlier she also did her B.Sc from Guru Gobind Singh College, Punjab University Chandigarh in 1984. While a well-known figure Dr. Harpreet Singh holds Professorship at Wayne State University USA and Er. Pawan Garg is former Wireless Adviser to the Government of India and is a former Member, Radio Regulations Board of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Geneva.
