Bathinda, 11 September, 2019: The Inspector General of Police of Bathinda range, MF Farooqui, who has launched an aggressive anti -drugs campaign has been shifted suddenly in the recent transfers list. People are surprised over the unexpected transfer of the IPS officer, who was himself leading the anti-drug campaign in the 3 districts of police zone.
Recently, he has suspended number of police officers after getting complaints from people. Last fortnight, he suspended SHO of Raman Mandi Manoj Kumar after the citizens of Raman Mandi met him and complained regarding lethargic attitude of SHO against drug sellers.
MF Farooqui IPS officer is a man with a difference. His passion for poetry and keen interest in the social sector activities makes him different from others. He took various steps to improve police interface. Besides, an able administration, he is also packed with a set of innovative ideas. He is votary of strong police public relations

A high profile IPS officer, MF Farooqui has been in the spotlight, due to his various creative innovations. Few months ago, he launched “Dil Ki Awaz bhi Sun’ initiative aimed to make aware the police force towards health related issues, which has yielded good results. He has been in the news for good reasons.

Another laudable work of MF Farooqui is his role in providing jobs to 325 youths of the district in one go. It deserves to be commended. To lend support to the unemployed youth of the district, he started a pre-recruitment training centre at Bhagta Bhaika, which proved to be very beneficial and it resulted in providing jobs to 325 youths of the district in the army in one go.
Gian Chand Bansal, Member of Citizens for Development (CFD) expressed surprise over the sudden transfer of the officer. He said “It appears there is no mechanism available in the state administration, which evaluates the work of the field officers to know the factual position, who is doing good work and who has failed to deliver”. The sudden transfer of this officer, who was leading from the front has dealt a big blow to anti-drug campaign of the state government, said Gian Chand Bansal.
