Cool air, chairs, table and water cooler facility at each Sanjhi Rasoi

More than 8 lakh poor people have tasted the food at Sanjhi Rasoi in just Rs 10. The Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori giving the information shared that sanjhi rasoi (community kitchen) concept started in 9 sub divisions and one sub tehsil are running successfully and for the public convenience cool air, cold drinking water and seating arrangement has been provided in these Sanjhi Rasoi.

Notably, Sangrur is the only district in state where 10 community kitchens are running successfully and beneficiaries are also increasing daily.

The DC told that till now an average per month 3500 people have eaten food at community kitchens in Dirba, sunam  Dhuri, Malerkotla and Bhawanigarh. He told that in Munak and Khanauri on an average per month 4550 needy people ate at community kitchen and in Ahmedgarh over 7000 needy people ate food.

He shared that in Sangrur and Lehra on an average 5500 needy people ate food in one month.

Thori told that staff deputed in community kitchen is clearly told to cook seasonal vegetables and pulses in the community kitchen and staff is following the guidelines.

He made an appeal to the good Samaritans to come forward and donate for providing food to the needy people.

He told that sudden checking is being conducted in these community kitchens being managed under the Sub divisional magistrates so that quality of food should not be compromised.

He said that people should donate for this cause and it is a good way to celebrate the special days like birthdays and anniversaries while donating for the food being given to poor people.
