PM to present awards on April 21

The villages Nurpur Lubana and Sangojla in Kapurthala district have been selected for the awards by the Union Ministry of Rural Development. Out of Punjab, 9 Gram Panchayats have been selected for National Awards in different categories.

The Panchayat of Sangojla village in Dhilwan block of Kapurthala has been selected for ‘Deen Dayal Upadhyay Panchayat Empowerment Award’ and the Panchayat of Dhilwan block Nurpur Lubana has been selected for ‘Child Friendliness Award’.

Deputy Commissioner Deepti Uppal said that these awards were made possible due to the work being done by the Punjab Government for the overall development of the villages under the ‘Smart Village’ scheme and the outstanding performance of the Panchayats. She said that this would inspire the rest of the panchayats to work harder.

The development of Government School as a Smart School at Village Nurpur Lubana, which has been selected for the ‘Child Friendly Award’, has created a conducive environment for the education and all round development of the children. Apart from this, successful implementation of government schemes for the welfare of children, organization of education as well as other social and sports activities were also important in the selection of the award.

It may be recalled that the selected Panchayats would be given these awards by the Prime Minister on the occasion of National Panchayati Raj Day on April 21 in New Delhi, under which an amount of about Rs. 10 lakh would be given for the development of the village.

ਡਿਪਟੀ ਕਮਿਸ਼ਨਰ ਕਪੂਰਥਲਾ ਦੀਪਤੀ ਉੱਪਲ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸੂਬੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਲਈ ਮੁਫਤ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਕੀਮ ਦੇ ਲਾਗੂ ਹੋਣ ਨਾਲ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਆਰਥਿਕ ਤਰੱਕੀ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਰ ਸਰਗਰਮ ਭੂਮਿਕਾ ਨਿਭਾ ਸਕਣਗੀਆਂ ।

ਉਨਾਂ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਾਵਾ ਅੱਜ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਕੈਪਟਨ ਅਮਰਿੰਦਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਲੋਂ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮੁਫਤ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਸਹੂਲਤ ਦੇ ਉਦਘਾਨਟੀ ਸਮਾਰੋਹ ਵਿਚ ਵਰਚੁਅਲ ਤੌਰ ‘ਤੇ ਹਿੱਸਾ ਲੈਂਦਿਆ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਸਫਰ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਵਾਰੀਆਂ ਵਿਚ 50 ਫੀਸਦੀ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ ਜੋ ਰੋਜ਼ਾਨਾਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਦਫਤਰਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਪੜਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸ ਵੀ ਸਫਰ ਤੈਅ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹ ਕਿ ਇਸ ਸਕੀਮ ਤਹਿਤ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਹੁਣ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਰਾਇਆ ਖਰਚੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਵਿਚ ਕਿਸੀ ਵੀ ਥਾਂ ਤੇ ਆਉਣ-ਜਾਣ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਪੈਸਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਖਰਚਾ ਪਵੇਗਾ।

ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਮਹਿਲਾਵਾਂ ਚਾਹੇ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਰੁਤਬਾ ਰੱਖਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਣ, ਸਿਰਫ ਆਧਾਰ ਜਾਂ ਵੋਟਰ ਜਾਂ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਯੋਗ ਸ਼ਨਾਖਤੀ ਕਾਰਡ ਦਿਖਾ ਕੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਗੈਰ ਏ.ਸੀ.ਬੱਸਾਂ ਤੇ ਸੂਬੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਚੱਲਣ ਵਾਲੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਮੁਫਤ ਸਫਰ ਕਰ ਸਕਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖਿਆ ਲਈ ਪੂਰੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਚਨਬੱਧ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਇਸੇ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਸਰਕਾਰੀ ਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਾਈਵੇਟ ਬੱਸਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਜੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ. ਸਿਸਟਮ ਵੀ ਲਗਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਅਤੇ ਲੋੜ ਪੈਣ ਤੇ ਪੈਨਿਕ ਬਟਨ ਦੀ ਵਰਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ। ਉਨਾਂ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਜੀ.ਪੀ.ਐਸ ਸਿਸਟਮ ਦੀ ਟ੍ਰੈਕਿੰਗ ਮੁੱਖ ਦਫਤਰ ਤੋਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾਵੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਜੋ ਬੱਸ ਦੇ ਚੱਲਣ ਅਤੇ ਪਹੁੰਚਣ ਤੱਕ ਸਾਰੀ ਸਥਿਤੀ ਦੀ ਨਿਗਰਾਨੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ ਸਕੇ।

ਇਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਹੋਰਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਇਲਾਵਾ ਏ.ਡੀ.ਸੀ ਐਸ.ਪੀ ਆਂਗਰਾ,ਐਸ.ਡੀ.ਐਮ ਵਰਿੰਦਰ ਪਾਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਜਵਾ,ਜ਼ਿਲ੍ਹਾ ਪ੍ਰਗੋਰਾਮ ਅਫਸਰ ਸਨੇਹ ਲਤਾ ਅਤੇ ਹੋਰ ਅਧਿਕਾਰੀ ਹਾਜ਼ਰ ਸਨ।

Exhorts industrialist to participate in inoculation drive 

Announces more camps for the entire industry in coming days

Jalandhar, March 30-

Further strengthening the vaccination drive in the district, Deputy Commissioner Ghanshyam Thori today inaugurated two new mobile vaccination camps in the city at Maqsudan Sabji Mandi and Focal point.

While kick-starting these camps, the deputy commissioner emphasized the need for transforming this drive into a mass movement in Jalandhar so that vaccination of a larger population group could be ensured at the earliest. He stated that the camp at Sabji Mandi would provide on-the-spot vaccination facilities to masses visiting this place while the second camp held at victor forging industry would ensure participation of the industrial workforce in this mega vaccination drive.

The deputy commissioner mentioned that more mobile vaccination camps would be planned in the coming days to provide inoculation facilities at the doorstep of eligible beneficiaries. He ordered health officials to start new mobile camps for Industry besides integrating nearby session sites with it.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner held a virtual meeting with the local industry, whereas many as 50 prominent industrialists participated. Mr. Thori solicited industries’ support in making vaccination drive a mega success in Jalandhar while urging them to encourage their eligible workforce to come forward for the inoculation. He said that from April, 1 person aged 45 and above can receive a vaccine jab as the government has removed the condition of co-morbidity for people of this age group.

The deputy commissioner further asked the General Manager Industries Deep Singh Gill to prepare a database of eligible beneficiaries from the industry so that a viable mechanism could be evolved to ensure vaccination to all of them. He mentioned that the maximum inoculation in the industries would help stem the virus spread.

Asks officials to increase bed capacity in all Covid care centers besides 50 new beds added in a single day

Jalandhar, March 30-

To bring maximum numbers of eligible beneficiaries under the ambit of vaccination drive, district administration Jalandhar has augmented its vaccination capacity to 30,000 doses daily with 237 functional session sites across the district.

Chairing a Covid-19 review meeting at the district administrative complex, the deputy commissioner said that the administration would go on a mission mode in the coming days to cover a large population under this drive. ”Since the Covid-19 cases were resurging in the district, it was the need of the hour that all the eligible beneficiaries received the vaccine jab at the earliest”, said Mr. Thori.

He further added that it would only be possible with public participation and exhorted people to come forward for the inoculation.

Meanwhile, the deputy commissioner reviewed the beds’ availability at the Covid care centers across the district and directed all the nodal officers to regularly these centers to ensure maximum numbers of beds were available in Jalandhar to tackle any kind of emergency.

During the meeting, the DC informed that as many as 50 new beds have been added today through concerted efforts of nodal officers. He stated that people can now check real-time beds’ availability at the Covid care centers at the administration’s website www.jalandhar.nic.in or at Covid and civil hospital helpline numbers 0181-2224417, 2224848 respectively.

The deputy commissioner asked all officers to ensure the data entry of vaccination in a real-time manner so that consolidated reports could be prepared regularly to analyze the status of inoculation drive in Jalandhar. Notably, as many as 5174 eligible beneficiaries have been vaccinated in the district on Tuesday by taking a total tally to above 86,000.
