JALANDHAR, AUGUST 18-The National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) has ordered strict action over the misuse of its name and logo by mischievous elements of society.

As per the communiqué received from the NHRC, New Delhi, no person would be allowed to use name and logo or similar to that of NHRC.

Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma informed that if a person is caught indulging in such activities then strict legal action would be taken against them under Emblems and Names (Prevention of Improper Use) Act 1950. Sharma said that the NHRC has its sole office in New Delhi and there is no other office/branch in the country.

He said that NHRC does not appoint any district presidents or in any other post or there are any provisions for the registration/affiliation/recognition to any Individuals / NGOs/ Organizations/Societies with NHRC.
