District Rupnagar excels in execution of PM-Kisan scheme
Gets Award under “Aadhaar authentication and farmers paid” category

Chandigarh 23 February 2021: Rupnagar district has topped in the country in the effective implementation of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana which completes two years on February 24.
The Rupnagar district is headed by Sonali Giri an IAS officer of 2009 batch. She is one of the hardworking officers of the state. Earlier too, she had been in the news for the good reasons. She had done good work as Commissioner of MC Amritsar and Deputy Commissioner of SBS Nagar.
The Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana is a government scheme that gives Rs 6,000 annual subsidy to the registered beneficiary farmers in three installments of Rs 2,000 each. According to the scheme, all small and marginal farmers will get up to Rs 6,000 per year as minimum income support.

Target group: All farmers without any limit on land ownership.
