Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU), Bathinda’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences & Technology students and scholars made their university proud by winning six prizes in various paper presentations at an International Conference organized by Swami Vivekanand College of Pharmacy, Banur (Punjab) recently.

The theme of the conference was “Current Scenario in Advancements of Pharmaceutical Education, Research Challenges & Prospects” with the aim of bringing together the international community of leading scientists, researchers, technology developers, industrialists, drug regulators, academicians, and students to disseminate and exchange information on their latest, innovative and breakthrough research outcomes.

From MRSPU’s Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology, as many as 20 students participated in various categories of oral and poster presentations.

Ms. Shilpa Kumari and Mr. Mohit Kumar, PhD Scholars won best presentation in oral and poster presentations, respectively in Technical session on “Nanotechnology in Pharmaceuticals”. While Ms. Ruchi Raj & Ms. Sanjana and Mr. Gurjot Singh & Ms. Sifatjot Singh from B.Pharm won 1st and 2nd positions, respectively in technical session 4: Natural Products & Drug Discovery.

The conference was unique in highlighting a diversity of cutting-edge advancements and applications of health sciences, especially those related to pharmaceutical, biomedical, clinical, dental, microbial biotechnological, biochemical, nanotechnology, and to address plausible solutions to the Next-Generation challenges confronting the scientists.

Notably Dr. Amit Bhatia, a senior faculty member of the department was also invited for an expert lecture on the topic “From Science to Technology: From Lab to Market (Translational Research)” in this event.

In addition, two research scholars Mr. Mohit Kumar and Mr. Chakshu Walia from the department also won prizes at the recently held 14th Chandigarh Science Congress, Chandigarh conducted through online mode. The theme of this international Congress was “Science and Technology Innovation”.

On this occasion Dr. Rahul Deshmukh, head of department and other faculty members including Dr. Ashish Baldi, Dr. Uttam Kumar Mandal and Dr. Amit Bhatia congratulated all the winners for their achievement.

MRSPTU Vice Chancellor, Prof. Buta Singh Sidhu and Registrar, Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Brar appreciated the department and gave best wishes to the students for their massive achievements. They motivated the students to participate in conferences to explore about the recent trends in Pharmaceutical education.

It may be mentioned here that the Department Of Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technology in a very short span have managed to mark its presence both at national and international level by providing advanced research in the field of pharmaceutical sciences.
