I am not a teacher, but an awakener says Sushma Arora

Bathinda, 30 May 2021: A dream does not become reality through magic; it takes sweat to work on things, determination, and hard work. This has been proved by the strong-minded Sushma Arora Principal of Flower Valley Convent School located on Mukatsar road in Bathinda.

Sushma Arora an educationist has set up an example by rising from a house wife to a well-known educationist of the city. She has emerged as symbol of women empowerment by her hard work in the educational field. She belongs to Bathinda city.

Surprisingly, Sushma Arora has done her whole education after her marriage, which was solemnised at the age of 18 in 2003.  Besides performing her house wife duties and managing her family home, she cleared two masters’ degrees in Punjabi and Political science and also done her Bachelor of education and Master of education with good performance.  It indicates her strong strength of mind and resolve to hit the target.

After securing degrees, Sushma started her teaching job in DAV public school Bathinda to fulfil her long cherished desire to become an educationist and after that she soon rose to become the first Principal of DAV School Parasram nagar. After serving as Principal for five years, she started her own venture Flower valley convent school in 2002.

Strong willed and determined, Sushma Arora never looked back and go ahead with starting two more schools one in Sri Muktsar sahib & other in Moga and furthermore, she started a Pre-school in Bathinda city with an aim to offering early childhood education to children before they begin compulsory education at primary schools. To fulfil her dream of spreading the education among the needy, she constituted an educational society to manage the schools in a more meticulous way.

Speaking with APS, Sushma said “The most important thing is whatever you do decide to choose, take it seriously and do your best”.  Education shows us the importance of hard work and, at the same time, helps us grow and develop us into a good human.

Sushma Arora further disclosed that she was planning to expand the education network to more areas, but now, this proposal has been put on hold due to situation arise  out due to Covid 19 in the state.

Answering a query, she said a person who is determined has a firmness of purpose and the resolve to achieve a goal, so one should always be positive to achieve the goal.

On being asked her source of strength, Sushma recited the words of Swami Vivekananda “Take up one idea. Make that one idea your life, think of it, dream of it, and live on that idea. Let the brain, muscles, nerves, every part of your body, be full of that idea, and just leave every other idea alone”.
