Prominent IAS officer Isha Kalia new DGSE Punjab

Chandigarh, 25 July 2021: Strong-willed woman IAS officer of Punjab, Isha Kalia in recent times took over as new Director General of School Education (DGSE) of Punjab. Known as one of the best among the young officers of state, Isha Kalia will start her first inning in the education department as DGSE.
Earlier, she had served as DC of Fazilka and Hoshiarpur and she climbed to fame with her apt handlings of administrative matters and engender positive results in every sphere. She had also served as ADC Mansa and Additional Commissioner of MC Ludhiana.
During her 11 year long tenure Isha Kalia has proved her worth, wherever, she worked. She has been graded as one of the honest and straightforward officer.
During her tenure as Additional Commissioner of Ludhiana MC, she launched its own android mobile application MC CRAMAT, allowing residents to lodge complaints through smart phones. Ludhiana became first district of the state to launch such facility after Mumbai.
During her tenure, the Ludhiana MC also became the first civic body in Punjab to open property tax portal and file online returns. She also introduced an easy to apply form Saral for getting building maps approved.
During her tenure as DC of Fazilka and Hoshiarpur, she had brought in focus, issues related with women, old aged people, ex-servicemen, meritorious students and other down trodden people. To follow this agenda, Isha Kalia has invented various new initiatives.
To provide a hassle free treatment to the senior citizens, D C Isha Kalia has launched a new initiative “Sahyog” for them. “Sahyog” was mandated for greater and better treatment for the senior citizens in their day to day needs.
During her tenure as DC Fazilka, she has introduced a noble initiative “I-CAN” project to provide guidance and coaching to meritorious students. I-CAN was a project under which one year free training was provided to meritorious students of plus two classes of the government schools.
