The Institution of Engineers (India) has conferred the ‘National Eminent Engineer Award’ on Professor (Dr.) Savina Bansal, Professor and former Dean Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (Bathinda) and Ex-Director Giani Zail Singh Campus College of Engineering and Technology (GZSCCET), MRSPTU Bathinda, in recognition of her outstanding achievements and contributions made to the profession of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering.

The other awardees are, Dr. Harpreet Singh of 1963 batch of Engineering from Thapar Institute Patiala and Er. Pawan Garg of 1969 batch of Punjab Engineering College, Chandigarh.

The awards were conferred during the ongoing 36th National Convention of Electronics & Telecommunication Engineers of Institution of Engineers.

A 2-day National Seminar on Antenna Design was also held on the occasion. The Institution of Engineers (India), which is recognized as a Scientific and Industrial Research organization by the Ministry of Science and Technology, Government of India is one of the largest multi-disciplinary professional bodies of engineers, established in 1920 with headquarters at Kolkata and was incorporated under Royal Charter in 1935.

Dr. Savina Bansal is of 1988 batch of Engineering from Punjab Engineering College and earlier she also did her B.Sc from Guru Gobind Singh College, Punjab University Chandigarh in 1984. While a well-known figure Dr. Harpreet Singh holds Professorship at Wayne State University USA and Er. Pawan Garg is former Wireless Adviser to the Government of India and is a former Member, Radio Regulations Board of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU), Geneva.
