Hands over Demand Draft & Citation Certificate

Jalandhar, 24 May 24:  The Deputy Commissioner Varinder Kumar Sharma today handed over demand draft worth Rs 40,000 and a citation certificate to a bright student of the district under Dr Ambedkar National Merit Award Scheme for Meritorious Students of Senior Secondary School Examination belonging to Schedule Caste (SC) community.

The meritorious girl Ms Raveena has bagged this award due to her marvellous performance in the 12thstandard exams conducted by state/ Central Boards/ Councils. On the basis of her marks, the student was selected by Dr Ambedkar Foundation, an autonomous organization under Ministry of Social Justice and Employment that implements several welfare schemes/ programs relating to the welfare of SCs/ STs.

This award has been given in recognition to the academic excellence and meritorious performance of the student in the 12th examination held in the year 2017.

Handing over the demand draft to Ms Raveena, the Deputy Commissioner complemented her for this rare feat. He said that this award was the recognition of hard work and dedication of the student, who had worked hard to excel in the field of academics.

Sharma asked her to continue this hard work and strive hard for excellence in future.

Complementing the student and her parents for dreaming big, the Deputy Commissioner said that the district administration was ever ready to help such meritorious and needy student.

Wishing the student a successful career ahead, Sharma expressed hope that every dream of the young girl would become a reality soon.

Ms Raveena, who is daughter a farmer, was a student of Meritorious School Jalandhar and was now pursuing B.Com in Government College Hoshiarpur.
