Director level woman officer likely to be DC

Chandigarh, 26 May 2019: Gossip and whispers are in circulation in the corridors of the secretariat of Punjab anticipating reshuffle of few IAS officers including DCs of some districts.

According to reports, Praneet Bhardwaj who was shifted from Bathinda to Health department as Special Secretary on technical grounds after the SAD delegation met CEO Punjab during the model code of conduct and demanded his transfer is likely to be again transferred as DC of Bathinda.

It is said one Cabinet Minister of Punjab is interested to bring him back in the district as he has done good work for the completion of the much delayed ring road project and other projects. He has also accelerated the development work on projects of Mehraj village, which is ancestral village of Punjab Chief Minister Capt Amarinder Singh.  Rs 28 crore was announced by CM for upgrade of basic infrastructure and civic amenities in this area in last week of January.

It is also said that name of one woman IAS officer, who is serving as Director in Punjab government is being considered for appointment as DC of one of the important districts. Besides, few other transfers are also expected in the coming days.
