Journalist Ravish Kumar wins 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Award

Manila, August 2, 2019: Journalist Ravish Kumar has been awarded the 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Award, Asia’s highest honour and equivalent to the Nobel Prize. Ravish is a senior executive editor at NDTV India.
The other winners of the 2019 Ramon Magsaysay Award are Ko Swe Win from Myanmar, Angkhana Neelapaijit from Thailand, Raymundo Pujante Cayabyab from Philippines and Kim Jong-Ki from South Korea.
The award is named after the third Philippine president, Ramon Magsaysay, and was started in 1957.
It is given every year to individuals or organisations in Asia who manifest the same selfless service and transformative influence that ruled the life of the late and beloved Filipino leader. (Photo source speakingtigerbooks.com)
