DC reviews work on development projects worth RS 200 crore

Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala  DPS Kharbanda today said that the district administration would soon launch a mobile app to facilitate the pilgrims coming to holy city of Sultanpur Lodhi during functions to mark 550th parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji.

Chairing a review meeting here at market committee office, the Deputy Commissioner said that the app would facilitate the pilgrims in spotting the places of religious importance, tent cities, parking spaces, hospitals, information centres and other public utility places. He said that the app was under preparation and would be launched very soon to facilitate pilgrims coming for paying obeisance at the holy city.  Kharbanda said that this app would be very helpful to more than 15 lakh pilgrims who were expected to participate in the commemorative functions.

The Deputy Commissioner said that currently development works worth Rs. 200 crore were going on in Sultanpur Lodhi to facilitate the pilgrims during the functions to mark 550th parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji. He directed all the departments to ensure that development works in the holy city were completed well before September 30. Kharbanda said that any sort of callousness in the smooth and hassle free execution of these projects was both unwarranted and undesirable.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the state government led by Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh was committed for commemorating this gala event in an unsurpassed manner. He said that the district administration was duty bound to execute all the works in a professional and time bound manner to facilitate the pilgrims coming at the holy city from across the globe. Kharbanda said that he would review the arrangements for the event on daily basis to ensure its smooth execution.

On the occasion Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, Sub Divisional Magistrate Navneet Kaur Bal, Deputy Superintendent of Police Swaran Singh Bal, Executive Engineer PWD Varinder Kumar, Deputy Director Local Government Paramjit Singh, Executive Engineer Drainage Ajit Singh Rai and others were also present.
