Punjab State Cyber Crime Cell has bagged first prize

Bathinda:  The Punjab Police Cyber Crime Cell team is doing good work and leading in solving various crimes related with cyber. This Cell performs its functions under the supervision of ADGP Cyber Crime P.K Sinha IPS , IGP R.K Jaiswal and DIG  Jagadale Nilambry Vijay  as well as under the overall control, direction and guidance of the DGP, Punjab.

Punjab State Cyber Crime Cell has bagged first prize in Investigation of WhatsApp impersonation-related case.

Award was presented at National Conference of State Cyber Nodal Officers held in New Delhi organized by #NCRB.

100+ case studies were received by the NCRB.

Case study: Senior functionaries of Punjab were impersonated through WhatsApp platform & financial favours were sought on their behalf from the people.

State Cyber Crime Division Punjab India Crime Cell successfully investigated and cracked the case by arresting 3 Nigerian Nationals.

Punjab Police has set up a State level cyber Crime Investigation Cell at Phase-4, S.A.S Nagar, Mohali. It exclusively deals with the case of Cyber Crime and is currently headed by an officer of the rank of inspector General (IG) of police.

The Cyber Crime Investigation Cell Consists of well-equipped cyber forensics labs, mobile forensics labs as well as the newly launched Social Media Monitoring Lab. Apart from this, there also exists a notified Cyber Crime Police Station with the jurisdiction of the entire State of Punjab, where Cyber Crime cases of serious nature are registered & investigated under various provisions of IT Act and other related laws.
