Nakodar SDM initiates Plantation Drive in Sub Div Complex

Nakodar, June 5: Nakodar Sub Divisional Magistrate Amit Kumar Panchal today started a plantation drive in the sub-divisional complex on eve of World Environment Day under ‘Tandarust Punjab’ Mission.

Initiating the drive, the Sub Divisional Magistrate underscored the need for planting more and more trees to enhance the green cover in the district. He said that it was the bounden duty of everybody to make stupendous efforts for protecting the environment.

Panchal said that trees play a crucial role by conserving natural resources and improving the environment. He said that it is high time for the people to come forward and join the hands with the administration for planting saplings and upkeep them properly to enhance the green cover in the district.

He claimed that it is the duty of each person to protect the environment for giving a better future to the next generations by planting saplings.

Sub Divisional Magistrate said that the sole aim of the drive was to ensure maximum green cover in the district through the planting of trees.

He said that ‘Tandarust Punjab’ was a comprehensive mission to preserve and improve the quality of air, water, and food in the state, thereby ensuring a good living environment for the citizens of Punjab.

Panchal exhorted the officers and employees of the government departments that each one of them must plant maximum saplings to enhance green cover in the district.
