Bats for remarkable inter-departmental coordination amongst various departments

Kapurthala, July 25-

Deputy Commissioner Kapurthala DPS Kharbanda today asked the various departments to ensure that work to construct tent city in Sultanpur Lodhi for commemorating 550th parkash Purab of Sri Guru Nanak Dev ji was completed by first week of October.

Chairing a meeting here at District Administrative Complex, the Deputy Commissioner said that three Tented Cities to facilitate around 40,000 pilgrims would be erected at around 280 acres of land in Sultanpur Lodhi. He said that these tented cities would be constructed at village Randhirpur, Maachijoa and Taraf Behbal Bahadur.

Kharbanda said that these tented cities would be equipped with state of the art infra structure to facilitate the pilgrims arriving from across the globe to pay obeisance at the holy city.

The Deputy Commissioner asked the various departments viz. PWD, POWERCOM, Public Health and others to exhibit remarkable inter departmental coordination to ensure that the work of constructing the tented was executed smoothly. He said that every effort must be made to ensure that the work was completed in the first week of October so that pilgrims do not face any sort of problem.

Kharbanda said that the celebrations during the mega event would start from November 5 and holy city would witness huge rush of devotees till November 15, so all the ongoing development works need to be completed well in time.

The Deputy Commissioner further said that the district administration has taken 977 acres of land on lease from the farmers on temporary basis. He said that out of this tented city would come up on 280 acres, parking for vehicles would made at 10 places spread over 610 acres of land and remaining would be used for other purposes during the event.

Kharbanda said that any sort of inordinate delay in execution of work was unwarranted and undesirable. He said that the commemorative events must be a spectacular show for which every officer/ official must perform their duty zealously.

On the occasion SSP Kapurthala Satinder Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner Rahul Chaba, Sub Divisional Magistrate Navneet Kaur Bal and others were also present.
