Chandigarh, 04 August 2021: A 2007 batch woman officer of Punjab, Anindita Mitra will be new Commissioner of Municipal Corporation. Union Home ministry has issued orders regarding her appointment today.

The Union government has approved her inter-cadre deputation from Punjab to AGMUT cadre (Chandigarh segment) on Wednesday.

She will replace the high profile officer, Kamal Yadav IAS from 2003 batch of Punjab. Kamal Yadav has done excellent work as Commissioner of MC. There is a long list of his achievements related to good governance and beginning of large number development initiatives as Commissioner.

Punjab Governor V.P. Singh Badnore, who is Administrator of Chandigarh, has recently appreciated the good work done by Kamal Yadav in one of his tweets.

Dharamkot, August 03, 2021: PCS Charumita assumes charge as Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) of Dharamkot on Tuesday. She belongs to 2014 batch of PCS.

Charumita is one of the young faces of the state civil service who has acquired recognition due to her hardworking approach. By virtue of being SDM of the historic town Sultanpur Lodhi for a long five year term, she played a good role during the celebrations of the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Devji.

Her work was admired by her seniors during the celebrations. The celebrations were started from 549^th year; main function was held in 550^th and concluded in 551th year.

As directed by her seniors, she took extra care of delivery and presentation, which is one of the important components during the big events such as the 550th Birth Anniversary of Shri Guru Nanak Devji.

She has also served as AC (G) at Bathinda and Barnala.

Khanna (Ludhiana), August 2, 2021: A 2016 batch officer of the Punjab Civil Services (PCS) Manjeet Kaur assumed charge as the Sub Divional Magistrate of Khanna on Monday.

Manjeet Kaur, who had earlier served as SDM Sunam is one of the proactive officers of the state cadre.  She has also served as Deputy Director Admin PWD B&R at Patiala from October 2017 to July 2018. Before that she was AC (G) at Sangrur from October 2016 to October 2017.

She had performed well and done good work as SDM of Sunam and she served there from July 2018 to July 2021 for more than three years. During her long tenure, she has concentrated and decided the revenue cases on fast track basis and which has earned her good name among the people of the area.

Assuming the charge of her new office, the SDM Manjeet Kaur said that she special attention will be given to further implement the pro-people schemes of the Punjab government in a good manner.

Manjeet Kaur said that her thrust areas would be to fast track and provide effective administration to dispose of the revenue cases and give transparent administration to people besides ensuring effective implementation of the flagship programs of the Punjab government.

In a preliminary meeting with the staff in her office, the SDM asked them to perform their duty passionately to ensure that the benefits of pro-people schemes of the state government reach the people at the grass root level.

Woman officer to be new Commissioner of Chandigarh MC

Chandigarh 27 July 2021:  Anindita Mitra a woman officer from Punjab will be new Commissioner of Chandigarh Municipal Corporation as per sources in the UT secretariat.

Her name has been cleared by Union Home Ministry recently and most probably it will be notified in the coming days as per reports.

Earlier in 2018 the Chandigarh Administration had recommended her name for the post of Managing Director, Chandigarh Industrial and Tourism Development Corporation Limited (CITCO) to the Ministry of Home Affairs.

But she did not join the posting and later on it was reported that she was debarred by Central government from central deputation for 3 years as per sources.

Lot of development works were launched and completed by the outgoing Commissioner of MC Kamal Yadav, whose deputation was to end on 22^nd May 2021 but it was extended further for 3 months due to Covid 19 circumstances.
